Candle Care Guide
For Wooden Wick Candles by Recreated Candle Co.
First Burn Is Most Important
Always allow the wax to melt evenly across the top (edge to edge) during your first burn.
This prevents tunnelling and sets the “memory” for your candle.
Ideal burn time for the first light: 2–4 hours.
Wooden Wick Tips
Keep the wick trimmed to 1/8" (about the height of a grain of rice) before each burn.
If the flame is too high or flickering, gently trim the wick with a wick trimmer or pinch off the charred bits once cooled.
Wooden wicks burn slower than cotton, so don’t worry if the flame seems smaller—it’s working as designed.
Safe & Clean Burning
Always burn your candle on a heat-resistant surface, away from drafts and pets.
Do not burn longer than 4 hours at a time.
Stop using your candle once about ½ inch of wax remains at the bottom.
Troubleshooting
Candle won’t stay lit? Wick may be too long or there’s too much char. Extinguish, trim to 1/8", and relight.
Uneven melt pool? Let the candle burn a little longer (up to 4 hours) to allow wax to catch up.
Weak flame? Gently tip out any excess melted wax or trim the wick slightly shorter.
Smoking or sooting? Wick is too long—trim it down before relighting.
Final Tip
Burning a candle is a ritual—slow, grounding, and intentional. With proper care, your Recreated Candle Co. candle will deliver hours of cozy crackle, clean fragrance, and unforgettable scent memories.
